⚖️ Delhi Gives Meta 72 Hours To Remove A Bollywood Star’s Deepfakes, 🎵 And DistroKid Pulls Tracks Over UMG’s Suit

Deezer Will Let Listeners Hide AI Music And An AI Directed A 29-Minute Documentary

AI work is now judged on proof, not promise. Vestiaire did not take Photoroom's word for it: an eight-week A/B test showed edited listings sold 5% more, after other tools kept changing the products. AI For Humans showed its receipts too, 214 takes to cast one synthetic host. The platforms want proof as well, with Deezer letting listeners filter fully AI music and DistroKid pulling tracks to answer UMG. Teasr's €19.50 promo videos are worth testing the same way.

Deezer will let listeners hide fully AI-made music from search in 180 countries · 8 min read

Deezer will add a toggle before the end of 2026 that removes fully AI-generated tracks, albums and related artists from search results. Music with limited AI assistance inside a human-made track is not affected. Deezer now receives nearly 90,000 fully AI tracks a day and says up to 85% of their streams in 2025 were fraudulent, so a fully generated catalogue is about to get harder to find.

DistroKid confirms it pulled tracks over UMG's claims, and some indie artists got no notice · 5 min read

DistroKid says it removed "a very small number" of recordings in response to UMG's Delaware lawsuit, which accuses the distributor of flooding services with infringing and AI-generated tracks and names nearly 2,000 recordings. Independent artists told MBW whole releases vanished without warning, including a licensed cover. MBW could not confirm every removal was UMG-related. If you distribute AI music through DistroKid, keep your licences on file.

Delhi High Court orders Meta to pull Kangana Ranaut deepfakes within 72 hours · 4 min read

On 8 October the court barred deepfakes, fabricated speeches, false endorsements and impersonation content using actor and MP Kangana Ranaut's likeness. Meta has 72 hours to remove the posts, and India's IT and telecom ministries must order internet providers to block them in the same window. Vijay Deverakonda won a similar order days later, so a recognisable Indian star in your AI content is a fast route to a takedown.

AI For Humans' 29-minute documentary took 214 takes to cast a host who doesn't exist · 2 min read

Gavin Purcell handed a 29-minute documentary to Fig, an agent running on Claude Opus 5.5, which wrote the script, directed every shot by prompt, checked lines by speech recognition, and cut the film in code. The host was generated in Seedance 2.5 on Runway at 480p, then upscaled to 1080p. It took six days and 213 rejected takes of the host. Purcell gave notes but never touched a frame.

Vestiaire's eight-week A/B test found Photoroom-edited listings sold 5% more often · 5 min read

Resale marketplace Vestiaire Collective split new listings between Photoroom's API and its in-house editor, covering background removal, shadows, centring and lighting on about 40,000 listings a day. The Photoroom group sold 5% more often and drew 3 to 7% more product-page views. Its product chief says other generative tools kept changing product details, the failure to test before AI product shots reach a client. This is Photoroom's own case study.
